Our UK branch were part of this year’s WOW!house 2025 at the Design Centre, Chelsea Harbour in London – a major event often called “The Oscars of Interior Design.”
This immersive showcase transforms individual rooms into full-scale design experiences, curated by some of the most respected names in architecture and interiors. Among them was the ‘Date Night’ – Nucleus Media Room, a soulful, layered sanctuary designed by the award-winning interior designer Alex Dauley.
The room was created as a peaceful retreat – a space for comfort, connection, and quiet luxury. To bring this vision to life, Alex chose Diamond oak parquet flooring in the Chiana finish, exclusively made at our factory in Lithuania.
“It’s unusual to find a product of that quality,” Alex said. “It took me quite a while to find the perfect flooring, but then I came across this Diamond parquet at the showroom in London. I looked at the Chiana finish, which is rich and warm and has depth to it, and I knew that this intricate pattern paired with that finish was the ideal solution for the WOW!house space. I was so impressed by the quality of the flooring.”
A Space Designed for Feeling
The ‘Date Night’ room vision was all about creating a sense of ease – whether alone or with a partner. Everything was made to feel soft, calming, and deeply personal: the lighting, the textures, the sounds, even the scent in the air. The mood was set with materials like velvet, suede, walnut, brass, and, of course, beautiful oak floors.
Alex described the room as a “cocooning space”, inspired by life transitions and the importance of reconnecting — both with ourselves and with others.
“Design should reflect who we are. This space reflects not just me, but what I believe in: clarity, comfort, and emotional honesty. I’ve created this room as if it was for myself – my kids grown up and left the house – and it’s a space where I can spend time in cashmere pyjamas, drinking a rum cocktail with my husband or by myself. Every detail was chosen with the highest requirements for quality and craftsmanship.”
“Design isn’t something that happens alone,” says Alex. “This room was built through relationships and respect. That’s the kind of future I want for the design industry.”
The Story Behind the Floor
The Diamond oak parquet flooring chosen for the room is one of our signature products. The Chiana colour, named after the lush Tuscan valley, is from Ecowood’s Mastri Toscani collection. The finishes in this collection were created by Italian colour master Enrico Piselli, who draws inspiration from nature. The result is a floor that feels grounded, timeless, and rich in character – with visible wood grain and natural texture in every piece.
Made from European oak grown in sustainably managed forests, our wood is carefully slow-dried for over 30 days, and crafted using only high-quality, non-toxic, eco-friendly materials. This attention to detail ensures the flooring is not only beautiful, but also strong, sustainable, and built to last for generations.
