We have a new product for clients who adore unique, sophisticated, subtly luxurious products – a new oak door design named Art Deco.
Born at the beginning of the 20th century, the Art Deco style is still trending today – safe to say that it has a revival. Although the new features that are typical to our times are added, there are still plenty of playful Art Deco details in the contemporary interiors, furniture, fashion, and jewelry.
Art Deco, also known as the Modern Style, is a visual arts style that became an instant trend in Western Europe and the United States in the 1930s. Its name derives from the International Exhibition of Modern Decorative and Industrial Arts (Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes), held in Paris in 1925, where the style was first exhibited. Art Deco design is the critical point after which modernism became fashion. Art Deco products ranged from individually made luxury items to mass production. In any case, the aim was to create an elegant and unconventional elegance, symbolizing wealth and sophistication.
The Elegance of Oak Doors in Precision-milled Details
Art Deco style is characterized by geometric ornaments, expensive materials, and simple, clean shapes that are often ‘straightened.’ Inspired by these characteristics, we created our Art Deco doors model.
To manufacture these doors, we use solid-engineered door technology. The door frames are made of finger-jointed oak and can be completed with or without a gasket. The door leaf is made out of finger-jointed oak with 4 mm thick oak lamella glued on top. The door mouldings are made of solid engineered oak and are covered with a continuous solid oak lamella. Our modern equipment creates geometric decor with impeccable precision, combining delicate details with strict lines. They can be later complimented by luxurious golden or silver door handles — an exceptional choice for elegant interiors.
The standard door set includes a leaf, jamb, casings, AGB lockset, AGB concealed hinges, and gasket.
Standard door dimensions:
Opening width: 700 – 950 mm
Opening height: up to 2120 mm
Opening depth: 80 – 125 mm
Leaf thickness: 42 mm.
Additional accessories are available. Fittings are based on our catalog with a wide range of options. We can manufacture other accessories such as thresholds and ventilation. Our technologies allow us to make reversible double doors with sidelights or overlights.
The doors are manufactured with a longitudinally brushed surface to maintain the impression of style. The different textures of the wood on the brushed surface result in different groove patterns. Each oak door is a unique product, and the wood grain patterns give each door a unique look.
Art Deco Hallmark – Bold Colors
Art Deco is appreciated by those fearless in experimenting with colors, shapes, and textures. Such doors will not suit sterile and monotonous homes. Art Deco and all the associated elements are all about color play, freedom, and plasticity.
Door color is essential since it can change the style by highlighting or hiding the oak texture. Art Deco style features rich colors like emerald green, burgundy, or black. They will always match when the oakwood texture barely shows through the dense and rich paint of these colors. It’s as if it adds a touch of mystery, subtle elegance, and splendor.
Thoughtfully Chosen Handle Completes the Overall Look
The door handle is essential for a door and can either enhance the style or become more invisible and merely serve its function. The right choice of handle can strengthen the impression of the Art Deco style. We are a representative of the world-renowned Olivari company, so our handles collection includes striking, distinctive design handles created by the experts of their craft. They can be the essential final touch that gives the impression of subtle elegance and sophistication characteristic of the Art Deco style. Rough, unconventional handles in a palette of gold and silver complete the class.
Art Deco style fell out of fashion in many places during the Second World War, but in the late 1960s, there was a renewed interest in Art Deco design. In the 21st century, Art Deco is still a source of inspiration in decorative arts, fashion, and jewelry design. Art Deco has inspired our artisans to create oak doors for brave, sophisticated interior fans.
